The difference between a regular reflective film and a low-E reflective film is the amount of heat the film keeps in during winter. In cold climates consumers need window film to retain the energy that has been generated indoors.
So therefore there is more to low e film applied to glass than meets the eye. Low E is not simply a generic word to describe a treated window. In fact it means that regular glass can be turned into a high performance solar glass.

Sputtered films with the low E performance are becoming very popular in Europe. The energy saving is significantly greater in winter and the excellent slick look from a silver sputtered coated window film is less reflective than a standard reflective silver film.

Low-E reflective films are utilized in the commercial and residential markets as they reduce the sunlight in summer and keep the warmth in during winter. Sputtered coated Low E silver film also allows in more visible light than regular silver reflective film. When a higher amount of illumination is required architects go for these products.

All reflective films stops 99% of the unwanted ultra violet light as it causes fading of furniture and actually is of no use to anybody.

These films create a stabilizing interior temperature which has a definite advantage to one's well being.
